Key Responsibilities

● Design, develop and optimise new electronic systems for robotics.
● Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate hardware and software systems.
● Testing of electronics to ensure reliability, performance and compliance requirements are met.
● Diagnose and resolve issues in products and systems.
● Be a leading voice on projects, managing timelines, budgets and resources to ensure successful delivery of electronic solutions.
● Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
● Own and refine the electronics technical requirements and documentation processes.
● Travel when required to the company's Los Angeles headquarters and test laboratories.

Required Qualifications/Experience:

● BEng/MEng in Electronic Engineering or related subjects.
● 5+ years’ experience developing electronic systems.
● Schematic and PCBA layout design (Altium or similar).
● Digital and analogue system design.
● Microcontroller system design (STM32 et. al.).
● Transfer and management of design releases to suppliers and manufacture (prototype & volume).
● Hands-on experience modifying PCBAs and debugging electronics.
● Ability to interpret and create clear technical documentation and processes.
● Design of mains-powered industrial equipment.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

● Design experience with system interconnects (RS232, USB, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet).
● Motion and control (sensor and actuator integration).
● Machine vision/camera-based optics systems.
● Design and simulation for thermal management.
● Verification testing of design, from prototype to production release (in-house/3rd party labs).
● RF/EMC design and testing.
● Failure and hazard risk analysis.
● Wireless modules (e.g. Wifi, Bluetooth, RFID).
● Design for regulated markets (medical, automotive, defence).
