Enigma People Solutions is urgently recruiting an Experienced Electronics Engineer for an outstanding and well established company with an excellent reputation. You will be joining a highly collaborative and personable team of experienced and creative designers and engineers based on the south side of Edinburgh.

This is a varied role that will see you design and develop electronic systems for projects across a wide range of industries and will be responsible for delivering technical work that meets high standards and complying with quality standards.

The core of your work will be to produce PCB assembly designs

You will lead the Architecture and Concepts activities on your projects while also coaching and reviewing the Architecture and Concepts work from more junior team members.
You will be required to lead the prototyping and testing activities on your projects while also be coaching and supporting the more junior engineers in those activities.
You will help generate accurate cost estimates, write proposals and support pitch meetings for new electronics design and development projects. A clear understanding of both technical and commercial limitations is required. You may also be asked to support business development activities at trade shows, conferences etc and identifying new business opportunities on behalf of the company.

This hybrid role (37.5hrs per week) will allow you to work part of the time remotely if needed or full time in the company’s bright and open studio based 25 minutes south of Edinburgh’s centre in stunning rural surroundings with views of the Pentland Hills. To be of interest you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Bachelor's honours degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field
  • Current and relevant industry experience especially in PCB assembly designs
  • High level of confidence to reliably deliver prototype and production designs that meet or exceed specifications
  • Proficient in using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analysers, and other test equipment to troubleshoot and validate electronic designs
  • Ability to identify technical risks in a project
  • Able to identify and clearly communicate technical issues, come up with solutions to minimise impact on project timelines.
  • Proficient in using design tools like Altium and Orcad
  • Advanced user of MS applications including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
